SDL MK22/MK55 Long-range Integrated 22km 55km Wireless Data Link – Industrial Professional UAV/USV/UGV C2 System Operations

Long-range Integrated 22km 55km Wireless Data Link Product Overview

The SDL MK22/MK55 22km 55km Wireless Data Link is an integrated drone data link system that continues the engineering design philosophy and operational paradigm of the Maestro series wireless high-definition image transmission platform. Built with powerful functionality and exceptional integration density, this system addresses the demanding communication requirements of long-range unmanned aerial vehicle operations. The ground terminal features a standard quarter-inch screw mount compatible with universal tripod systems, enabling rapid azimuth alignment with airborne assets through simple tripod rotation. Dual power supply architecture ensures operational flexibility across diverse deployment scenarios, while one-click code matching and automatic encryption streamline field configuration without requiring specialized software expertise.

SDL MK22/MK55 22km 55km Wireless Data Link System

The 22km 55km Wireless Data Link system connects to ground station infrastructure through a standard high-strength flexible cable, delivering drone video and telemetry data in a user-friendly interface that provides true what-you-see-is-what-you-get display fidelity. This integration makes the MK22/MK55 an ideal communication backbone for Fixed-wing Platforms conducting extended-range survey missions, Multi-rotor Drones performing infrastructure inspection, and FPV & Specialized Platforms operating in challenging electromagnetic environments.

Integrated Design with High Integration Density

The MK22/MK55 22km 55km Wireless Data Link ground terminal represents a significant architectural advancement, achieving a five-in-one integration of wireless high-definition video transmission, telemetry data link, SBUS control signal routing, antenna subsystem, and receiving terminal. This consolidation eliminates the cable clutter and configuration complexity associated with discrete component systems, reducing setup time from minutes to seconds.

The antenna subsystem employs a hybrid configuration combining a flat panel directional antenna with an omnidirectional fiberglass antenna. The high-gain directional element enhances signal strength in the bore sight direction while significantly improving the data link’s anti-interference capability against off-axis radiation sources. This dual-antenna approach optimizes the link budget for maximum reliable transmission distance while maintaining connectivity during aircraft maneuvering when the primary directional path may be temporarily obstructed.

The integration density achieved in this design reduces ground station footprint, simplifies logistics, and improves overall system reliability by minimizing interconnect points that could fail under field conditions. For BVLOS Antenna Tracking System deployments, this compact form factor enables rapid repositioning and reduces the infrastructure requirements for mobile command posts.

Real-Time Signal Monitoring with OLED Display

The 22km 55km Wireless Data Link receiving terminal incorporates an integrated OLED display that provides clear indication of current communication parameters including signal strength, signal quality metrics, IP addressing information, and uplink and downlink data throughput statistics. This real-time feedback enables operators to optimize antenna alignment without requiring external test equipment or software diagnostic tools.

Users can adjust both horizontal and vertical orientation angles of the flat panel antenna in real time, observing the immediate impact on signal strength through the OLED display. This closed-loop alignment process allows determination of the optimal bore sight direction for the panel antenna, maximizing received signal power and ensuring the most robust link margin. The intuitive visual feedback makes this sophisticated RF alignment process accessible to operators without specialized radio engineering training.
