In ultra-long-range drone or model aircraft system application scenarios, the use of high-gain directional antennas can enhance the reception capability of wireless signals. The higher the gain of the directional antenna, the narrower its lobe width. However, due to the constantly changing real-time position of the drone, the high-gain antenna on the ground needs to be “aimed” in real-time. Therefore, we have designed the fully automatic antenna tracking gimbal system MF18. MF18 ATS features high integration and excellent tracking performance. When used in conjunction with our Maestro series image transmission system, it can provide users with a well-productized and system-level solution.

Low-latency 2.4G/5.8G dual-band WiFi

Stable and reliable, easy to use, MF18 ATS features wireless video and data distribution capabilities. Through its dual-band WIFI component, it transmits high-definition video streams and data to the host computer, making remote drone systems more efficient and convenient. Users can also access drone data and videos through the standard network port on the gimbal base.
Data is transmitted via TCP or UDP, while video is transmitted via TCP, UDP, RTSP, and other methods.

SBUS forwarding and range-extending module

Remote control, effortless mastery. The MF18 ATS is equipped with a remote control SBUS repeater module. Users can pair the MF18 ATS with the Maestro HD image transmission system by connecting the SBUS port of the remote control receiver to the SBUS port of the MF18 ATS, enabling remote control of drones or payloads. Fully automatic tracking gimbal

360° high-precision tracking supports Mavlink protocol parsing, extracting the longitude, latitude, and altitude information of the drone from flight control data to more accurately grasp the drone’s real-time position. MF18 ATS using in conjunction with M52, the drone employs Pixhawk flight control.

The M52 ground unit receives the drone’s flight control data, then transmits the Mavlink protocol data from the flight control system to the protocol parsing component of MF18 via UART1. It further transfers real-time high-definition video and flight control data to the low-latency WIFI distribution component through the Ethernet port. Users can connect their host computers (such as laptops) to the WIFI hotspot network of MF18, open Mission Planner or QGC ground station software on the host computer, and obtain the drone’s video and flight data as well as control the drone through UDP/TCP/RTSP.
