45km Range of Automatic Antenna Tracking System

45km Range of AAT System: The smart antenna tracking system is a communication antenna system that utilizes antenna arrays and digital signal processing technology to dynamically adjust beam direction through adaptive algorithms. Its core working principle is to adjust the phase and amplitude of the signals transmitted by each antenna unit in the array, so that the signals are coherently superimposed and enhanced in the direction of the target user, and cancelled and weakened in other directions

1.     Test Content

To test the transmission performance and tracking effect of the tracking antenna system, the main test contents are as follows:

1) Transmission bandwidth and signal strength of the tracking antenna.

2) Transmission bandwidth and signal strength of the omnidirectional antenna.

3) Comparison of transmission bandwidth between devices with different power output:

n  9401 (4W Air Unit)  <——>  9301DM (20W Ground Tracking Unit)

n  9401 (4W Air Unit)  <——>  9401DM (4W Ground Tracking Unit)

n  9301 (20W Air Unit) <——>  9301DM (20W Ground Tracking Unit)

n  9301 (20W Air Unit) <——>  9401DM (4W Ground Tracking Unit)

3.     Test Methods and Environment

Test Methods: The Air Unit is installed at the Shenzhen South Mountain Observation Deck and connected to a laptop for stream testing. The Ground Tracking Antenna is placed at the Guangzhou Nansha waterfront and connected to a computer for stream testing.

Test Environment: Open area with an unobstructed sky.

Note: The following pictures are for reference only (location is real), due to no picture was taken during this test.

4.     Parameter Settings

Frequency: 1410MHz

Bandwidth: 10MHz

Output Power: 4W/20W

5.     Test Plan

Distance (between A and B) measured on Google Map is 42.06km

1)     The Ground Tracking Unit uses a 14dBi directional antenna and a 6dBi omnidirectional antenna, while the Air Unit uses a 5dBi omnidirectional antenna. Point A is where the computer and Ground Tracking are placed, and Point B is the top of Shenzhen South Mountain, where the Air Unit is installed. The Ground Tracking Unit is mounted on a tripod.

 2)     The Ground Tracking Unit uses two 5dBi omnidirectional antennas, while the Air Unit uses a 5dBi omnidirectional antenna.

7.     Testing Data

1)     Ground: 1x 14dBi Directional Panel Antenna, 1x 6dBi Omnidirectional FRP Antenna

Air: 2x 5dBi FRP Antenna

2)     Ground: 2x 5dBi Omnidirectional FRP Antenna

Air: 2x 5dBi FRP Antenna

8.     Conclusion:

1) Comparing directional antenna and omnidirectional antenna, directional antenna offers significantly higher bandwidth and better signal quality. It can increase bandwidth and signal strength by approximately 20%.

2) From the perspective of device power output comparison: The power output of the Air Unit has a more significant impact. The bandwidth difference between 4W and 20W can exceed 6Mpbs. For the Ground Unit, the difference between 4W and 20W is relatively smaller, with a difference of only about 1-2Mbps.
